We believe that the service user should have the opportunity to choose the home which best suit their particular needs. To ensure that this happens we do the following:

  • Provide detailed information on the property to all prospective service users as well as encouraging them to view the property before moving in through our “introductory visit initiative”.
  • Ensure that each service user is given a Tenancy Agreement specifying the terms of their tenancy.
  • Ensure that each service user have their particular needs properly assessed before a decision to house is taken.

Choosing the right home can only be done with the participation and voice of the individual. At NextSteps4U, promoting choice and providing opportunities for the individual to take control of their lives before placement is paramount, as the accommodation we provide will be directly aligned to the needs and wishes of the individual.

We recognised that having the right place to live is a critical need for everyone and  by getting the right accommodation for persons diagnosed with mental health issues, we believe can have a very positive impact on their overall wellbeing, social relationships and improving their behaviour.

Choosing home

Inside

The support we provide to the individual is intended to allow them to progress whereby they can live independently in their own permanent accommodation with enhanced support in situations where complete independence is not possible.

Our offer includes a wide range of high-quality and safe properties adapted to meet the specific needs of the individual. All of our properties are certified as meeting the requirements of all fire, health and safety certification standards and are constantly reviewed and updated in line with all statutory and legal requirements.

Essentially the properties we provide are safe places for our service users and must be seen as their home and a place that we ourselves or our own family members would like to stay and call home with good access to essential amenities, community facilities and the local transport networks.

We work in partnership with landlords across the housing sector embracing both private and social housing and this ensures we always have available a range of property options best suited to individual need.
